Pros

Noble mission and vision to reinvent education in the U.S. Organization pays it executives very well and benefits and time off are above norm.

Cons

Terrible culture translates to constant infighting, power plays and entire subsidiaries sold simply because management couldn't get along.

Pros

I have never worked anywhere that felt more collaborative, or where I felt more heard. Leadership team is transparent about goal-setting and strategies, and empowers directors to do what they need to do to help their direct reports to succeed. My opinion feels valued, and I am given the freedom to focus on my strengths and to build up my weaknesses. I also especially appreciate the organization's ability to recognize the changing nature of work, accommodating remote employees and the flexibility in scheduling to achieve a healthy work/life balance.

Cons

The organization has undergone a number of structural changes, as well as a shift in mission, and this has made for a rocky time for some. Despite open lines of communication and clear avenues to resources to help in managing change, it's still easy to sometimes feel frustrated or lack clarity. Still, I am incredibly excited to see where we are going and teams remain committed to student success.

Pros

Passionate group of people committed to improving education outcomes for students across the country. Constant attention on innovation to ensure organizational strategies and structure respond to the needs of school districts and state/federal policy environments. Willing to invest in the resources and staff needed to achieve goals. Great vacation benefits and flexibility for working parents. Strong focus on employee culture and professional development.

Cons

Not a con for me, but individuals who are uncomfortable with change may not do well here.
