Pros

Co-workers were great to work with. Employee discount stacked on top of other discounts was nice.

Cons

Management was absolutely horrible. You truly mean nothing to them if you don't get credit applications. The way they make you push it on customers is honestly disturbing at times. I felt like I was trying to sell a timeshare to shoppers. If you don't get credit, it WILL affect your scheduled hours. NO CREDIT APPLICATIONS=NO HOURS. It's disgusting. And rude customers? Never you mind sharing common sense with them or expecting a manager to help you explain proper due course. The customer is ALWAYS right even when it's glaringly obvious that they're incorrect. So don't bother calling for help. Just knock off the percentage they're aiming to get and be done with it. That sales paper from 5 weeks ago? Of course we'll honor the price! Just ridiculous. Get it together Kohl's. You're worse than wishy washy politicians with your policy and logic.

Pros

The 'Yes We Can' policy makes it easy to help customers quickly without worrying about getting in trouble. However, even that can come back to bite you one way or another depending on the opinion of the manager on duty, as nobody can agree on just what 'Yes We Can' is supposed to mean.

Cons

My opinion as simply as I can put it: Kohl's sucks. I will tell you a few things without going into detail, so as not to risk this not being approved for posting, as this information NEEDS to be made public. -It's all about Kohl's Credit solicitation -If you don't make your credit goal, however ludicrous, you get a talking to and your hours are cut -Part timer can get up to 40 hours, full timers only 36 -The 'respect hotline' for valid employee concerns is a total waste of time -The 'no retaliation' policy is that in name only, and they WILL retaliate against employees for whistle blowing (you're welcome, OSHA) -The 'Yes We Can' policy is just another way of saying 'the customer is always right', but if the wrong manager is on duty, you will be scolded and made to feel like you're doing it wrong, even when another manager was okay with the decision. -If a team of 12 can just barely finish a job in 5 hours, you will be cut back to a team of 10 and expected to get it done in the same amount of time. Because that's how math works, right? -If someone doesn't like the way things are, it doesn't matter because they will be replaced by someone cheaper and more sheep like. -Training? What's that? -The only effective form of communication is GOSSIP -Work / life balance? You're work IS your life. 'Kohl's should be your first priority.' -Quote from an executive manager to a part timer.

Pros

Two miles from home. Yep that's it.

Cons

The part-time pay will keep you at poverty level, I"m still trying to figure out who I need to sleep with to get full-time. Part-time insurance S*@KS, after a few months I've max out my $300 prescription cap and that's with generic, now I'm paying full price for meds. You can do 1 of 4 things when you get your yearly review, #1: fake it and act totally surprised that your hard work was worth a hole .20 cents more an hour, #2: laugh you A$$ off inside, #3: with a blank look, say uhhhhhh thank you? #4: feel very, very insulted that your work ethics have gotten you no where with this company. Wait, should I have asked why I wasn't important enough to have my review done in a professional office environment instead of on the floor in my department?
