Pros

Good starting pay. Once the base is over though it's not as great.

Cons

Personally feel the job is getting a lot harder due to the fact that print media is a dying source of media. Low meal and travel per diem.

Thanks for the feedback! We agree that selling print only is difficult, but with our online directory products and other digital properties, our Ad Sales Execs can sell print OR digital and get the same commission rate. We recently automated the lead process for our sales team and can generate up to 500 prescreened prospects for each assignment! Be sure to check with your sales manager if you haven't used these sales tools yet - and THANKS for all you and the ad sales team do for us each day. We are building out these resources so that our team doesn't have to travel as much. We've learned during COVID that you can be successful, even if you aren't travelling each week.

Pros

Your team / coworkers are awesome. Pay can be good.

Cons

Disconnected management and leadership. told there is flexibility, not true. there is an artificial earnings ceiling placed. be prepared to do what has always been done even if it doesn't produce fruit. advertisers and church customers are disenchanted with years of the "same old; same old".

Pros

I was recruited by Liturgical Publications from a major Digital advertising company. I was very unhappy and stressed at work...but afraid to leave because the money was so good. After 6 months at Liturgical I can honestly say I have never been happier on the job. My family and friends have noticed the huge change in my stress level. My job is to go to a new church each week and make calls and reach out in person to obtain new advertisers in the back of the church bulletin...the service directory. I absolutely love the people I meet...the travel...speaking with business owners and helping them with their ads...I can honestly say with 100% confidence that this is the best job I have ever had. I am paid well...great insurance and 401K...the best support from management and tools on the job. Plus...I felt ready to go right after training. I HIGHLY recommend this company. This is the first time in my life I look forward to Monday after the weekend is over.I won't be going any place else. Here until retirement!

Cons

Full Commission based pay...BUT if you work smart and work right...it is no issue at all. A lot of travel...for me is WONDERFUL because my husband travels with me and he does his own thing while I work and we enjoy visiting all the new places I get to go. Those are the ONLY things some people may find a draw back.

Pros

I like what I do. Its rewarding, challenging, and uplifting. I believe in the product and what we do. Makes the job 100% easier if you believe. The people I meet and the places I travel.

Cons

Pay could be a better for the long hours we invest in the work. Bigger bonus incentives. Make the goals easier for the average good rep. More employee recognition. Better communication between Reps and SCC Controlling Managers Teach them a little empathy.........they use to be there.

Thanks for reaching out - we strive to build an environment of support, and I'm glad to hear that staff was great to work with. Our ad sales team is compensated with guaranteed income, but the real opportunity comes from our incentives. Most ad sellers work remotely, with little direct supervision after training. We encourage our salespeople to treat their market like it's their own sales business, with the company providing delivery of what's sold. There's no limit on earning potential, and sales pros who take initiative to run their territory with autonomy and accountability can enjoy a long career, with substantial income opportunities .

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on Glassdoor. I’m excited you felt a strong sense of support around you and a good work/life balance. We are working hard to not only live our core values but implement strategies that build quality of life, as I like to say. Speaking of quality of life, I know what goes in your back pocket matters, too. We are just starting to announce our next round of new earning opportunities. Like the steps we implemented last year, they will be in addition to what we already have. Yes, sales is hard which means commissions can be hard. With the excellent support teams and additional opportunities coming, I’m confident our advertising sales executives will reap the rewards.
