Pros

Good work experience and excellent coworkers. Plenty of teamwork and coordination is required to get the job done. Would recommend to new graduates.

Cons

Toxic upper management and low amounts of opportunity for job growth. They push people too hard for too little and continue to ignore solutions to common problems.

Pros

Only Pro is that being an individual employee I know I can affect several patients positively a day that LabCorp can not harm.

Cons

This company is very horrible which is very disturbing for how large a reach in patient care they have. I am a 10+ yr Cytogenetic/Fish technologist and the changes I am forced to make every week or month has been so disturbing that my constant griping about patient care actually got me threatened with being written up by management for insubordination. LABCORP continually wants changes that will increase profit while directly harming patient care. They will force changes to procedures that produce great results for far less acceptable changes just to save a few thousand dollars a year. They do this while ignoring senior technologists explanations, backed up by facts, that the changes are very bad for patients and will actually cost money. A fact that shows how very poor management is from the top down. I would not recommend to any family members or strangers that I meet to send their oncology work to Labcorp. Management has stated that they care more about profit than patients and I can attest to that being ABSOLUTELY factual. We are force to buy cheap everything and use less qualified methods to obtain the most important information(whether or not your mother, father, sister, brother etc has cancer) to every patient that comes through the lab. LABCORP DOES NOT CARE about patients or their families. It is disheartening to be forced to make changes that your managers, coworkers and you know give less than acceptable results for each patient. Management uses threats, intimidating and bullying to make sure you do not stray from the mantra the PROFIT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN PATIENTS. This horrible company will only promote YES men/women who will not question the very questionable moves that upper management forces. The management thinks that every lab in every state is the same and they do not listen to the people doing the work. This type of profit chasing is the reason that corporations are so vilified in the media. Profit is absolutely necessary but not at the level of expense that Labcorp shows to it's customer base. We save lives we don't sell giant bags of chips. If management listened to senior employees profits would be there as well as quality patient care. I absolutely do not recommend working for this company if you have a brain or conscience. I will be leaving as soon as I have a new job offer as will almost all my coworkers. THIS COMPANY IS A HORRIBLE CORPORATION THAT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT PATIENTS.
