Good and bad

Pros

You get to broaden your vocabulary, and to learn about different topics. Also, are there no direct supervisors, which is cool. The best thing is you only need to be a good interpreter to meet the metrics. I am talking about LL Costa RIca.

Cons

Salary wise...not that good. Besides the entry salary is relatively low (for an interpreter), the company has a no-salary-raise policy. There are growth opportunities but your income, as good as it gets, will remain the same. Also, at least in CR Heredia, the facilities are not in the best conditions, and the call center area itself is warehouse like. There are no windows, for you to see the outside. They have told me it is different in Cartago though. Finally, there are almost no added benefits. They only give you private medical insurance, which is good, but most call centers do. No added values, and not a good cafeteria...

Pros

Work at home. That's the only upside to working here sadly. I tried thinking of others but this is it.

Cons

No advancement opportunities, no raises, high call volume, management expects you to interpret as if you were a decent paid, certified interpreter yet pay you minimum wage, management is rude, many clients are rude as well. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Stay away.

Pros

Good salary for Costa Rican standards Paid Vacation, 2 weeks per work year Monthly bonuses for attendance, performance, internet subsidy if you work from home and seniority It is a constant learning experience, and that is how it should be taken

Cons

No Holidays, this is very hard to keep a good family-work balance because we do not get any holidays, not American, nor Costa Rican, so specially if you have children it can be challenging. Spending Christmas morning at work while everyone is opening presents can really get you down,
