I get to see my neighbor's dog from my window.

Cons

Demanding set of rules, but the pay is insulting. I was there to learn the basics of medical terms and general interpretation skills. After a few months of learning the ropes, I ran as fast as I could. There was no loyalty earned from this sweatshop. The support staff was rude and miserable with their job as well. Interpreting for nurses and bank staff can also be a test of patience, as they are vile and looking for a someone to take it out on . I'm now located in a third world country doing a similar translation work, but making TWICE as much per hour as I did with LLS. Anybody who worked here should go for a proper detox and seek out some religion.

- employee management communication non-existence - very stingy to interpreter, no bathroom break, 15 mins lunch if working less than 6 hours a day - work day include public holidays, without any extra pay, no paid vacation, no benefit for part time - basically treat interpreters like robots

Pros

Works from home, all equipment are provided. Decent pay, good communication between company and employee and expectation is clearly expressed.

Cons

I was told that I would be a medical interpreter and had to take a test translating a medically related conversion, which is fair. But after accepting the job, I had to interpret all calls from insurance to banking and I was not prepared for this since it's not my area of expertise. I would have appreciated being told this beforehand and maybe have some extra training.
