Pros

Free food at the offices. Employee only events. Equity in the company. Giveback program is a nice feature.

Cons

Zero diversity when it comes to management and above. Most people of color are in the customer service department which is treated the worst in the company. No real recognition for those who work hard. Outright and mentioned favoritism to create “healthy” competition when in reality, creates a toxic work environment making many feel less than. Most legitimate complaints fall of deaf ears, lots of “thanks for you feedback, sorry you feel that way”.

Pros

1.) Remote work (but, hybrid work was clumsily forced). 2.) Some really smart people are committed to working hard and collaboratively. Warm and welcoming office aesthetic.

Cons

A gaggle of micro-managers who are "know-it-alls" and the culture is awash with micro-aggressions. Executives hide behind directors with limited skill sets. The company is essentially a bastion of unchecked bias and an unwillingness to be self-reflective as an organization with respect to cultural differences, racial gaps, and equitable access. And, there are mean girl cliques that make doing your job difficult.

Pros

-Great coworkers -Good direct management and CX senior management -Nice office with snacks and treats -Full time remote work if desired (for CX anyway) -Great benefits -Fun activities on occasion -Pay was good when I started but I believe current salaries are not up to industry standard

Cons

Listen, it’s not the worst place I’ve worked, but it definitely was way better when I started several years prior. And recent times led to me feeling so burnt out that I felt the need to leave to get my mental health back on track. This job also made me never want to work at a 9-5 ever again, so take with that what you will. Getting a promotion or a raise is nearly impossible, unless you’re one of the favorites of upper management. They want to hire as few people as possible even when understaffed, so even if you do get that promotion, you’re going to be miserable. Company logistics are a mess, and they have leaders in positions that they very much should not be leading as they have no concept of what these teams do or background in the department. There are also upper management folks who make it their mission to be intimidating and difficult to work with — why? To me that seems like a poor way to run a company. Additionally, there is no pay transparency so you could be making far less than someone in the same role, and it’s discouraged to discuss wages (wonder why). At the end of the day, I want to see Lemonade succeed. I believe in the product and the mission, but I do think it got lost along the way. If it is possible to get the company back on track with happy employees, happy customers, and a solid product, I would jump for joy. But I’ll need to see it to believe it…
