Pros

Benefits that you get for even a part timer.

Cons

Managers don't keep to Training Schedule. I was given x2 weeks of training instead of the designed 16 weeks. Being told to, " just do it." or " Just figure it out." So, rather than being trained to do something that should take 2 minutes, I take 30 minutes to an hour trying to figure out something. That time could have been used to make another sale. As a manager, how can I train others if I wasn't trained either.

A good company, not perfect, but good.

Pros

You can have fexible hours which for me is a good. The pay is reasonable for the work required. If you are full time the benefits are good. Even as regular part time you are eligible to participate in the 401K program and you received contributions toward a pension plan. Though the amount can vary quite a bit, you receive spiffs based on how well your store is meeting their goals.

Cons

Your hours are not gauranteed unless you are a salaried associate. If business is slow, your hours can be cut. The 4th quarter is the worst of the this. The reduction is hours at the end of the year can also lead to inadequate staff to get the job done. The stores are open retail hours so evenings and weekends are part of the job.

Pros

Benefits for both full-time and part-time is great. Their vacation structure is great. First year is one week paid, after that it is three weeks. There are opportunities to advance in the store as well as the company.

Cons

With my particular store, management is poor. The work I do is not recognized enough. While the company prides themselves on quality and training, my manager does not seem to care if I learn more or advance. Their "Mind Blowing Experience" business is has its problems. I have also noticed now after working there for a while some of the products are flawed and I am not so sure the manufacturers are aware of some of the problems.
