Pros

Solid product for old mainframes.

Cons

No R&D or product development for new products; extremely outdated product line make is extremely difficult to penetrate the increasing virtual, open and cloud environments. In fact a Director said to a group of sales reps that "LRS will not be spending money on new development." He mentioned this will trying to make a case to sell into current (already saturated) accounts. I knew then that this company is doomed. Horrible sales management process that has the whole group of executives fly out on LRS owned private jets so they can grill you on your pipeline. They have no trust of the sales managers as they even grill the manager. Obviously, there needs to be accountability but sitting if front of 7-9 executives for 2-3 hours is hardly the way. Make sure you ask about this if you interview there.

Pros

- Good coworkers for the most part - Good health insurance benefits at good cost - Fun employee events

Cons

- Pay is much below industry average, even for Springfield. I left and took a job immediately for $15,000 more. Even after health insurance increase at new job it was 10k more. Raises at LRS are usually inflation percent - PensionGold management had unrealistic expectations for time and cost on projects. Blamed employees for these issues instead of correcting it. - Lots of downtime made me feel unproductive. Management just said to hold on and it will get busier. Never did. - Development work is boring. Using old technologies and tools that take away ability to program. Never felt like I was growing as a developer. - Upper division managers never talked to regular employees. Uninterested in feedback.

One Of The Worst Companies I've Ever Worked For!

Pros

It owns a very cool drag racing car and team!

Cons

This company was and maybe still is stuck in a 1970's early 1980's time warp. It was very inflexible and unwilling to change with current technology. Also, the management was very inflexible with a Draconian, Machiavellian way of operating. It was one of the worst places I've ever worked at!
