      A company that lives its values only in words

      Pros

      The organization has a great history and it is interesting to get an inside view on how the company has evolved and struggling to maintain its position in the marketplace. In general, there is a focus on providing good employee benefits but that's were the focus on employee welfare stops.

      Cons

      I joined this organization partly because of the values and also to contribute to the change the organization is going through. Unfortunately, my day to day experiences were very different. There was blatant disregard for employees. I saw employees put on performance improvement plans or fired for exposing the truth. It's a organization run by consultants who have high powered friends in the organization.

      Same old, Same old!

      great benefits; half day Friday's; generally, people are nice.

      Levi's have a gift for hiring incompetent managers....there have been SO many examples over the years. Even if a manager is known to be incompetent, HR and other management take a "my hands are tied" approach. They don't take any interest in developing their employees. There's generally no room for promotion internally -they tend to hire from the outside. When it comes to performance reviews, they focus on the most petty things which are not brought to your attention at the time, nor during the mid year review process...but rather at year year end when they need to fit everyone in a bell curve distribution. Salary increases are minuscule - you literally get poor working there!
