Pros

Levi's has always had a great culture among the low/mid tier level employees. Some of the nicest, creative people you will ever meet. The company has a lot history of doing the right thing. The benefits and the 401k matching program are great.

Cons

The leader of merchandising always responds negatively to feedback, hypersensitivity is a sign of a true narcissist . Always has an obsequious and sycophantic posse around, serving him in ways that made him feel much more powerful and competent than he is. Money is spent on useless trips and parties, rather than development of employees. Engagement survey is lower than all other departments in company, advice was that it was worse at other companies. To survive in the environment its all about office politics and nothing about the results or the value you bring to a team.

Pros

The headquarters is at a great location in the city, although parking will be tough if you drive. Great company values and sense of corporate social responsibility.

Cons

Unable to find management hierarchy and unstructured environment. You wouldn't know teams exists or what kind of projects others are working on. It's highly possible that you'd be working on the same type of project as someone in another team/department. Company had a recent restructuring back in 2014 and laid off 20% of corporate workfoce. But somehow they ended up rehiring for similar roles (and are still hiring those same roles). What's the point of paying the consultants?

Pros

LS & Co has a very talented and smart workforce, very open floor plan (I personally like but others don't), casual dress code, offers a flexible work schedule, great vacation benefits and OK medical benefits.

Cons

Unfortunately, there are continuous reorgs / layoffs (almost yearly), an upper management team that can't make decisions and can't stick with a vision or strategy, a VERY political atmosphere where favoritism trumps performance, limited opportunities for advancement and a poor work / life balance as each reorg requires remaining staff to take on more workload with no incremental pay or title change. The company also has a large debt that's publicly held, limiting overall growth while making the environment VERY stressful on a daily basis.
