Poison Leadership - Stay Away

Pros

Hard working hourly employee base.

Cons

Current President (Matuch) is a major bully and has destroyed what was once a fabulous, employee centered culture. He has single-handedly run this business into the ground, and cares nothing for the employees.

Pros

The company can actually be split into three parts. The government contract business which is mostly made up of data entry. They have had this contract for decades and service the PTO well. This business is stable. It provides a good work from home option for many. It also is the lion share of the company's revenues. The next vertical is intellectual property solutions (IP) that on the whole have underachieved. The product that is in the largest revenue segment has been plagued by problems since it relaunched in 2016, They keep on reorganizing the organization hoping that will help build revenues including bringing on a new CEO. The CEO is out to prove himself so he can move on to bigger and better pastures. This division is high pressure and difficult. The third is the life sciences business. You have a lot of stars on this team on the product, marketing, and sales teams. They are under a lot of pressure to perform and, in general, are up to the task. The general manager stepped in the position with an amazing foundation handed to him and likes to take all the credit. He is the only weak link on an otherwise brilliant team. Behind the scenes in HR, the senior director, is seasoned and fair. He does not put up with ANY sort of discrimination. He is open-minded and easy to talk to about any concerns you may have.

Cons

IP team has been and continues to be in disarray. The continuous re-orgs are not going to help the significant underlying problems. It is a small company, so opportunities for career growth are limited. If you are looking to move up quickly within one organization, this is not it. Health benefits are not great. As a healthy employee, I always ended up paying a lot more into it than I ever got out of it.

Garbage Pay System

Pros

Work from Home is convenient

Cons

How much you get paid for your work is based upon your "quality rating" which determines how much you are paid for your quantity. Acceptable quality ratings have dropped multiple times over the years, causing you to need to produce less, without proper corresponding increases in payment per quantity, effectively reducing our pay while increase the tediousness. On top of that, if their Quality Control denotes an error in your file, often that will be about a situation that is not covered in their awfully organized, outdated manual, which when situations are not explicitly covered, it is supposed to be a judgement call and to not effect your quality. Instead, you often get penalized for the judgement call, which can often end up costing you hundreds or thousands of dollars over several months, depending on your production output, as you are relegated to a much lower rate of pay. You have once chance to challenge the assignment of the error, however that is handled by a faceless, nameless person. The person who denies your request to remove the charged error is NOT required to even sign the form, denying you of any further action, there is no chain of command to take the issue up with a superior, and the person who just cost you a significant portion of your pay has 0 accountability. Just because the person who originally reviewed you work and charged you, or the person who denies your challenge, might have had a bad day, you can end up making 30% less for months.
