Pros

Used to be a great place to work. Some great people still work there in marketing, r&d, and services. Unlimited vacation.

Cons

The culture has completely degraded. Empire builders are rewarded. The people who have been successful, delivered results, and know the business are often shown the door to make room for “favored” employees. “Leaders” in some areas are brazen enough to tell you that your job is safe and then lay you off a week later. Some managers and leaders are clueless on how the actual business operates but don’t realize it due to sycophants surrounding them. Employees that still work at Lexmark are often confused and frustrated due to lies and seeing good employees laid off. Rampant discrimination against employees over the age of 50. If you are 50+ years old, there is a good chance that your position will be eliminated in the next lay off.

Pros

Salaries commensurate for geographical area.

Cons

Work life balance sucked in my area; good work was always rewarded with more work than anyone could do in a standard day. I was on call 24/7 and marked down if a test wasn’t Resumed ASAP nights, weekends etc. of course that wasn’t applied to ‘pets’, minority’s, or women. One could do 9 things excellent and one thing average and they use the one thing as a beating stick to keep you from a raise in salary that HR had suggested one receive. Yes, management redirects salary increases despite HR’s recommendations; it’s the good ole boys mentality of rewarding brown noses.
