We’re so sorry this was your experience. As a fast-growing company, periods of organized chaos may feel like dysfunction but they are necessary as we get clear and aligned to prepare for tremendous growth. We recognize that’s not for everyone. Our leaders, many who have 20+ years’ experience, strive to be transparent and communicate clear expectations. We also have a well-defined framework for setting expectations and communicating. Our company goals are clearly defined and how we will execute is shared throughout our teams. If there’s more we can do to close this gap for our people or this is related to specific teams, we would love to hear so we can learn and improve. Pros

The company may feel "warm and fuzzy" with a great mission up front, but do not be fooled.

Cons

Leadership likes to tout that "culture is their strategy." It is a nice tagline, but meant nothing in practice. Drastic, sweeping decisions (mistakes) were made without ever consulting anyone internally who may be able to provide insight. Large numbers of internal/FTE's were laid off in favor of "expert consultants" who came in and made a huge mess for everyone to figure out. Large groups of employees would be laid off, and in the next all company meeting, they were referred to as "corporate overhead" (instead of people) and they didn't want to spend too much time discussing the layoffs, so as to not "bring down the mood."

We are sorry to hear your thoughts because culture is our strategy and we stand firmly behind that. Our team members, even in the midst of rapid growth, have repeatedly voted us a Top 150 and Top USA workplace. We’ve been very vocal and transparent about our shift from fee-for-service to value-based care to serve seniors more fully with a complete senior health experience. At the same time, like many companies across the country, current economic factors have led us to make tough decisions with non-client facing staff, unfortunately impacting roughly 1% of our workforce. We covered that in great detail via company meetings, team meetings, and direct communication to help our people understand and feel confident about why these decisions were made. The good news, Lifespark remains a stable, healthy company with a committed workforce and we are not slowing down our hiring. Happy to meet with you to clear up any misunderstandings but also to learn more from your perspective on areas we can improve our employee experience which as always, remains a priority.
