Pros

You get to travel. The skies the limit on how much you could make. Management is friendly. You can definitely grow in the company.

Cons

This is a HIGH stress job and all about sales more than photography. You have to be able to put emotions in the closet and leave them there. You never know when you're going to be working. Pretty much every one gets a month or two of no work period. Then Some days can be 14+ hours long. It's all commission and you never know what you're going to make. It's all about what church you get sent to. Sent to a good money church, you are going to make money. Sent to a low income church, you can kiss your paycheck goodbye. Doesn't matter how good your photography is sometimes. Can really hurt your pride.

Pros

Gets paid training before each season Travels to new schools everyday to take pictures and get paid for travel time and gas reimbursement Sometimes receives overtime pay because work days often times exceed 8 hours Very chill and interesting photographers you work with

Cons

full time but seasonal, so not a job thats all year around working with children can be difficult at times, especially when they need to pose a certain way Need to go to studio 5-6 am almost everyday to pick up equipment and drive to school before school starts

Pros

The company provides you the equipment needed to work from your own home office remotely. The base salary is better than most and the benefits are in-line with other employers.

Cons

Bonus is paid quarterly, but you won't ever reach the ridiculously high quotas anyway. You don't have control over how you do your job. They micro-manage people and painstakingly keep tabs on your every computer click. The company has changed its entire business model and there is much confusion all the way from the top level management to the regional managers, to the direct managers what each employee is to be judged on regarding their job performance. They compare you to other sales reps regardless of how long you've been working there but they will tell you they don't compare performance. What company doesn't compare performance? The problem though with their comparison is that they play favorites and if you're not a favorite, good luck. They have seasoned employees who have been there for 20+ years and a huge influx of new employees, but not enough people to train and mentor. They still compare you to those seasoned employees. I mentioned the quotas being ridiculously high-- this is evident in that only 1-2 seasoned employees made bonus. There also seems to be a very subtle way they are getting out of paying employees their bonuses as well-- based on the number of photography days a sales rep books, is what supposedly gets you to your revenue quota however, they are underbooking the days initially, only to add the necessary number of days AFTER the quarter where you would have been paid passes. The goals are the same regardless of where you are geographically located and that is also a problem. You can't have a blanket goal when one employee is in the bible belt, and another in a part of the US where churches aren't on every corner. Lastly, they claim to have a ramp up time of 6 months, it's more like 9 months due to the fact that the company church divison for years allowed employees to sell churches a directory and the photography was secondary. Now they are backtracking trying to change that to photography first and tools secondary, but the churches have moved on. They don't want to deal with the company anymore because they don't offer anything they can't do on their own. They don't see the value and the sales reps are constantly calling them for a service that's not on their list of priorities. Churches are busy helping those in their community and with minimal staff or volunteers. They don't have time to deal with the fluff LIfetouch is pushing. It's a dying industry and company.
