Pros

JC Penny and Target discounts if you work in the studios.

Cons

Try not to get hurt working there, your screwed if you do. Get all job offers in writing! Instead of giving raises to employees, senior management takes all upper management on extravagant trips each year, ie Mexico, Europe.

Pros

I work for the Flash Digital Portraits branch of Lifetouch. I have received training as a photographer that has allowed me to really grow. They are very supportive of creative new ideas. I work with people that are talented and hard working. Our customers are fun to work with and love what we do. The beautiful portraits and fun experience are what keep them coming back and makes them want to tell their friends about us. There is value in that.

Cons

The work hours range from 4-15 hrs week in the off season to 20-40 hrs from Sept. to Dec. There are contest for the managers to go to places like Costa Rica, but the "little" people that make their winning possible get a free portrait package, that's great if after years of hard work you want to be able to wallpaper your house with portraits.

Pros

It is a great place to grow as a photographer. They have all levels of skill and other photographers that are happy to help you learn. Another great perk is that it is an all employee owned company with state of the art technology. combine these two factors and if you can stick it out long enough to retire you have a pretty solid investment for your future.

Cons

Hours are ridiculous. You are sometimes expected to leave home at 3:00 in the morning for 5 hours of work. It is also seasonal work so it is very hard to actually make a sustainable living. Photographers make or break the company and yet their compensation is very poor in relation to sales reps and management.
