Pros

My favorite job I’ve ever worked. First job outside of college and it was wonderful. The staff, management, and kids made every day worth it.

Cons

It is tiring work! But so worth it

Pros

the kids are wonderful and changed my life.

Cons

i worked here for 5 years. the management, no matter which location you're at, will be garbage. they will ask you over and over what they can do (to improve morale and turnover rate) for you and other employees and when you tell them, they blatantly ignore it, or give you some round about answer as to why they can't do it. then they provide a bunch of bagels the next day to hopefully smooth it over. you will ALWAYS be short staffed and its awful. plus, the management doesnt care about helping you get through it. as therapists, you have to break each other (for no longer than 7 minutes at a time) and when you actually need an extra person to come help, the management gets on you about it. if you want to move up in the company, behaviorally, that requires a masters degree but otherwise there are a very small amount of opportunities-just the nature of the work. also, pto is basically non-existent. you accrue ~4 hours biweekly and that's for BOTH sick and vacation- it's combined. you get 5 "wellness days" per year (no rollover) but they take those if you don't have enough pto. health insurance is available and it's not bad but nothing special. I stayed longer than I should have while being mistreated mentally and was burnt out 90% of the time because I LOVED the kids. they are special and I would do anything for them so I suppose it made it all worthwhile.
