Toxic & low morale

Pros

Remote work can be nice and flexible, but it also means that with a distributed global operations team, you are always on. Some really dedicated, smart, caring colleagues, but those don't politically survive and tend to leave or be randomly let go.

Cons

"Vision without action is a daydream; action without vision is a nightmare." There is no product vision, just a homogenous Amazon cabal of insecure doc-writing that is focused more on self-promotion than substance. High turnover (sometimes in the order of a few months), at all levels, C-team executives down to the drivers collecting scooters. It's worth quoting a brave colleague who recently sent a company-wide email "to: All" (subject: MESSAGE TO THE LIME TEAM) that says, "...since the change in hierarchy...I've been subject to constant and daily harassment...this has caused me psychological health problems...I no longer recognize the company I've worked for...unfortunately I'm not the only one. Many employees remain silent and withdrawn...not even the HR team was able to support me by remaining neutral and professional...I'm sending this email as a warning to my dear colleagues: your mental and physical health at work is paramount!"

Pros

The cons outweigh the pros so much, I forgot why I even enjoy working here

Cons

-Management has 0 direction and cannot offer guidance as to what teams should do. -biased heads of departments who show favoritism based on title status and ignore the ones who bust their behinds. -absolutely 0 chance for growth if you are a minority. -expect to feel overwhelmed with tasks because the responsibilities you are initial told in the interview process will be a thing of the past as 100 other things will be added to your tasks. So expect very late hours as there is NO work life balance. -ERGs are nonexistent. You meet with the advocates of your chosen ERG when first hired, but after being hired, everything are crickets. No meetings or activities or nothing. Nonexistent! -lies, lies, and more lies to get you in the job from the “I don’t know” recruiters. You are told one thing verbally from these incompetent recruiters during the interview and offer stage, then when you sign the offer letter and come onboard, everything changes! Liars with no real knowledge of how equity works. -expect to sit in a meeting with the person totally ignoring you because they are too busy working on other things. 🙄 I can go on and on.

Pros

coworkers are smart/hardworking manager is reasonable & laid back, just do your job and communicate manager is understanding if you need a couple (unpaid) personal days every now & then decent pay for the labor considering the market friendly lower/upper management Growing industry/new technology

Cons

no sick/vacation days (all days off are unpaid) poor communication from middle/upper management (pretending to listen/remote orders that don't make sense on the ground) not enough hands on deck at the lowest level unstable supply chain management/procurement of parts & tools required for productivity were severely ill-managed
