Be prepared to be treated like a number

Pros

Its a good job for someone interested in education, and for a summer job. Training is paid Working with kids 1 to 1

Cons

You have no control on the pace of lesson, or anything about a lesson, have to follow guidelines to the point. Your schedule can switch at any time without caution You're in charge of the kids even during "breaks" They will make you teach any subject at any time If you work with academy Repetitive, specially for the kids

Great Program, Difficult Job

Pros

The programs work for so many students. Employees are well-trained to teach the programs.

Cons

Allowing students to enroll in program who need a behavior therapist to be present in order to manage behavior and facilitate learning. It is impossible to teach a student successfully when their behavior management needs aren't met.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Lindamood-Bell. Unfortunately, it seems that some of our policies may not have been implemented as designed. The learning ability evaluation process informs our instruction recommendations for all students, including those with known specific challenges. Our instruction department provides additional guidance for any student who needs an individualized plan for engaging in sessions and staying on track. We also work with a student’s outside team of professionals whenever possible. Setting the stage for success is core to our approach. Thank you again for your review. We are continuously reviewing and improving how we train staff and communicate about this topic.

Pros

The programs. As everyone says - they WORK! You see incredible results and it is so rewarding to see those ah-ha moments with children and their families. It's truly life-changing.

Cons

Everything else. Lindamood-Bell has created unbelievable programs that have the opportunity to help SO MANY. But instead, they only want to help the people that are willing to take out a second mortgage on their home, or take away from a child's college fund. YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO HELP SO MANY AND YET YOU DON'T! It makes me so sad to see. You treat your employees terribly. You don't communicate, people get promotions based on who they know and not the content of their work. Praise your employees when they do good - like you tell them to do with your students. The pay has not been raised for clinicians and consultants in ALMOST 20 YEARS. HOW?!?! These people work so hard and pour their hearts into what they do - and should be compensated for this. All your good employees leave and go and do similar work privately, when will you learn? All the parents reach out to all the employees BEGGING them to do private work. EVERYONE SEES WHAT IS GOING ON. Do good. Open your eyes and see that you have access to help so many, and smart, hardworking people will want to STAY with the company and HELP if you treated them they way they should!

Thank you for sharing your experience with Lindamood-Bell. We appreciate your candor even though some it is difficult to hear. We take feedback like yours, concerning employee recognition and pay, into consideration in our efforts to improve our workplace. As for the cost of instruction, we understand that even with discounts for group instruction and tuition assistance, our learning centers may remain out of reach. But Lindamood-Bell is more than learning centers. We would like students everywhere to benefit from our programs; one way we make this happen is through Lindamood-Bell for Schools. Our courses are available to educators everywhere so they can teach using the steps of the programs, or use the programs remedially for struggling students. Thank you again for your review.
