Pros

The people at Lockheed Martin are generally good people and a pleasure to work with. The type of work is interesting and challenging, typically cutting edge and a leader in the industry. Good experience can be accumulated with this type of work.

Cons

The moral and environment are not conducive in creating an enjoyable, positive, and productive work place. Security combined with Human Resources does not foster an open and trusting relationship with management. Employees will avoid speaking-out and offering information, seeking advice, or career development. This is not a pleasant place to work. Most positions are dead-end jobs with meager annual salary increases. Merit raises are below industry average. One would need to leave and return to this company to get ahead. Classified programs amplify these over-sites and use their secrecy as an excuse why employees are overlooked when recognition has been earned. Even though they offer Insurance Benefits, the programs are just below industry average with very high costs to the employee.

Pros

The high pay is the only positive thing I can speak to.

Cons

Too many to go tip to extreme detail. Current profits are much higher than at anytime, yet there are constant layoffs of extremely qualified and high performing individuals. Performance assessment process is extremely unfair. Instead of being assessed on performance, it seems to be more of a popularity and nepotism based system. Managers all smile in your face like it's all good, but behind your back they gossip and talk about you to,other employees, highly unethical. They speak to work/life balance, but is held against you if you do not work more than 40 hrs a week.

Pros

The pay is okay. There really aren't many other pros that I can think of. They're a large company, and some people might like that.

Cons

There is zero opportunity for growth. The company is in decline and the senior management either don't care, or just want to squeeze every ounce of blood out of it before it dies. It won't go any time soon, mind you, but it will go. The amount of process that one has to go through to get ANYTHING done is nothing short of staggering. Process, schedule and cost come before anything else. While Lockheed hasn't been caught up in any recent ethics scandals, they apply very little ethics in how they treat their employees. They are not reinvesting any money in the company. At all. You can't even get them to buy a paperclip, never mind the proper equipment for the engineers to do their jobs. To sum it up: Poor management, no reinvestment, treating the employees like crap, no vision and management by process have brought a once great company to its knees.
