Pros

Security Clearance Great pay out of undergrad (because of shift differential) Lots of other young/recent grads Smart people Advancement opportunities (if you like satellite operations) NEVER bring work home with you - you'll go to jail if you do! 8 hours per day... and that's it!! Great hours/benefits

Cons

Shift Schedule - The rotating shift schedule was tough. It's hard for some to stay healthy becuase of the hours, eating habits, etc. And bye bye to half your weekends! The company is HUGE and obviously pretty silo-ed. If you want to go somewhere else after your 18th month stint it's not like your boss can call his buddy over in a different business unit to help you out. I thought the work was incredibly boring. Many of my peers LOVED it and wanted to stay in highly technical satellite operations for the rest of the career, never seeing the light of day, traveling, etc. I think I'm almost too much of a mover/shaker for a job like this.

Pros

Lockheed Martin is a great company to work for overall, the benefits are great and the technology is astounding.

Cons

Management. At least at the current branch that I work for. There is no work life balance at this branch and my supervisor is very sexist. If you want a vacation you might as well forget about it. If you want to advance at this branch, unless you are a part of the "good ol' boy" club, forget about it.

Pros

every other friday off and 401k match

Cons

Leadership is what is not being done. HQ thinks their sites are working towards the same goal, however management are just checking off boxes to make them look good. Employees are doing the same because its just easier to accept then it is to complain. If you are in a click you will get promoted even if you can not handle the job..LMCO does well when following the peter principle. I find it amazing that this company is floating....i just wish they took pride in the employees as they do winning the bids. I wanted to work here so badly cause I thought I would be surrounded by smart adults that i would learn from, and instead i got a bunch of uncaring, disgruntle employees that are waiting to retire. I read the negative review and though it may come across that they are a bunch of unhappy people just complaining, they have valid points. For the past 3 years I though I had a problem until i relized other departments are having the same poor leadership issues. It is hard feeling like you are the only one that sees leadership needs a major overhall, and LPD program is not going to fix it, they are too young and 3 years does not fully develope you unless you are bringing leadership skills from previous jobs.
