Making Positive Changes

Pros

The company culture is wonderful. You can tell they recognize that people are people, so there's a lot of flexibility. There are also a lot of perks (Free lunches every Friday, free soda, frequent happy hours and coffee trucks, etc.) In Engineering specifically, I really like the direction the org is going. I've been here a little less than a year and there's been a lot of changes (so there's a good amount of change fatigue), but the intent behind the changes is good and I think it will really make us better long term. The leadership team across Engineering and Product are working really hard to get aligned and to align the teams, which is no easy task. Once we get through this chaotic phase where we're all learning and adjusting to these changes, we'll be in a great spot as Developers.

Cons

The engineering teams are spread across several locations, which can make "Agility" a little tough, but almost all companies have that set-up these days.

Pros

Good, very sellable product. Good support and a positive working environment.

Cons

Bad Comp Plan. Any good Enterprise Sales Person sells multi year support contracts. LogRhythm bills the customer and collects for all 3 years up front and pays full commission to the sales person. But, they changed the plan this year, they only plan this year. The company still collects all the money up front but, they only pay 1% on the second and third year and $0 goes against quota. Sales people are jumping ship. Also, quotas are completely out of line. This company likes to keep it's sales people at 80% of plan.

Pros

Unlimited commission. Also, you are territory aligned, this allows the SDR communicate and build a relationship with the RSMs. Later this comes as a huge benefit. RSMs allow you to learn the RSM practices and responsibilities, when you go for an another opportunity they provide recommendations.

Cons

Favorites game and not all the same standards are applied to each SDR. There is not a clear career growth path and the attempt to keep high performers in this entry level role as long as possible instead of development is damaging to the company investment. Thoma Bravo purchased them and the future is unclear.
