Starting pay is average, pay increases are okay

Cons

Current union does not have the operators' best interests in mind, they don't actively fight for them; if you get hurt on the job (i.e. being in a vehicular accident while operating a bus) your importance to the company seems to diminish; division supervisors do not make schedules to help employees; there is nothing in place to keep operators safe from disgruntled passengers, and operators are forbidden from having anything for self defense.

Very political, nepotism(good if you know someone of course), no benefits, no job security for this position despite the fact that the program was made to train the person for eventual employment.

Seniority rules, therefore one may work an unwanted shift until you build seniority - which could take a couple of years. F.Y.I. Metro is known as a "Drop Dead Program", meaning employees rarely retire unless they die first......
