Toxic Leadership

Pros

Serving the public with an essential service like transportation is full of purpose. There are some solid, and fun folks who work together on improving the Metro system.

Cons

Metro leadership is toxic, chaotic and ego-driven. Many departments do not collaborate, unless forced by the CEO. The customers of LA suffer due to lack of alignment at the executive level.

Pros

They will allow you work as much as you legally can. Opportunities to transfer to rail, or promote to supervisor. Supervisors at my Division are supportive and chill.

Cons

Dealing mostly with homeless and mentally ill, or drug addicted passengers who make it uneasy for the driver and real passengers. Sometimes the routes you choose suck, but as with all things you get better choices as your seniority level climbs. Don’t violate the rules or they will suspend you effortlessly, or even terminate you.
