Operators are nothing more then a number to the company despite being the backbone to it. Choice of schedule is based on seniority and isn't secure. They can and will change your schedule and hours at will and you will not see a weekend assignment until you have been working for years. No vacation time for the first year of employment and even then you will only get one week, despite working up to 50 hours a week. If you have a family, prepare to not see them for a couple of years.
The job is highly underpaid for the amount of stress operators are put under. Customers are rude and often dangerous. Security is a joke and is completely after the fact. I had a customer threaten to batter my head in with a frozen water bottle and the cops came an hour after I triggered my emergency alarm. I have had men sexually harass me whilst driving the bus and despite their being cameras, those men have suffered no repercussions for their actions. Drivers have no real authority to keep people from riding the bus. The company tries to sweep incidents like stabbings under the rug and away from the media to hide their mistakes.
