Pros

The company stands behind its sales/customers. Coworkers are smart, considerate, and helpful. The cabinetry specialist position is challenging and interesting. 401K and ESPP plans are great. I learned a lot during my time in this position.

Cons

The noise and interruptions are not conducive to the concentration and attention to detail required for this position. There is no quiet space provided to work. Design software is only loaded on the computers in the department. Designers are 'basically' chained to their chairs and serve as the 'store information desk' for every customer walking by. Due to flash sales, the workload is often heavier than what can reasonably be accomplished in 40 hours and OT is rarely an option. As a result, skipped lunches and disappointed customers are the norm. No one else in the store is trained in this position and store/upper management does not understand what the job entails.

Pros

Decent pay, set schedule if you’re FT, no interactions with customers, decent benefits.

Cons

Managers clique together, drama drama drama between associates and managers even when you try to stay out of it. Extremely hard work, and timed while doing it. Always judged, and hardly ever recognized for hard work. You may always get your stuff done and early but if a manager has it out for you because they simply don’t like you or you get paid too much , count your days and start looking for another job. No time for a life.

Pros

For the contact center, there (was) a ton of support for employees. Open door policy with management is very nice. They are making constant changes, but usually to improve.l both customer and employee experiences. Decent benefits. I loved my last position there as a Knowledge Support Professional, which doesn't exist anymore.

Cons

Some people have reported that learning all the systems Lowe's uses is difficult. It seems like more and more responsibilities are being added to assistant managers, to the point that I'm not sure they can realistically juggle them. My nearly 50 member team that was designed to support new hires with navigating said systems and policies and help with trend tracking and analysis was laid off. We were promised job security over and over again, and then with absolutely no warning, we all got a call one morning telling us to log off and not come back because Lowe's is "streamlining the business." I get the role being removed, but were there really no other positions to offer us? Point is, have a backup plan if you apply, no matter how long you've been there.
