Pros

Great benefits Enjoyable work environment Diversity Core values Paid time off 401k Great opportunity to change the culture in the building. (Raise moral and motivate) Salary most of the time...

Cons

Over complicated training program including some obsolete training. Obsolete metrics for hourly employees. I was expected to spend 30 minutes a week with each specialist to go over their performance. ASM-Sales was a position that was removed long ago. This position was brought back after the Specialists went to hourly rather than commission... to increase moral and change the sales style on the floor to improve customer experience and to increase revenue. The big CON here is that the ASM Sales at the time were being held to metrics that had nothing to do with the goal of the position. Salary exempt: during/after hurricane Harvey I was working 70+ hours a week. As Salary exempt, all Salary employees did not receive any incentive to continue coming to work besides a top off on the gas tank. While hourly employees that worked at least 26hrs a week received bonuses that put their pay rate higher than my own... so I felt a little under appreciated almost double the work for no extra pay, while an hourly employee that works 1/3 of the time that I did each week, makes more money than myself...

Pros

Benefits Teammates Opportunity for remote work

Cons

There is a severe disconnect between brand reputation and what is actually happening across the company. Many of my colleagues were affected by an unannounced layoff. Unfortunately, my colleagues were given zero notice and were informed that their jobs were terminated immediately. Our department was the latest affected, but this practice has been happening for several months and trending towards repeating itself. Employees affected by these layoffs were not underperforming. On the contrary, the majority were meeting or exceeding expectations. Yet, they were not given a warning, and in all cases the termination of their benefits was immediate. Meaning their health benefits were canceled without notice or the opportunity to make arrangements. Additionally, they were not awarded an opportunity to seek employment in another department within the company. The layoffs come a week after Lowe's announced great quarterly returns and celebrated a week-long lavish celebration in Las Vegas, where the theme was "people." I write this on behalf of my colleagues who will be forced to express gratitude or positivity. Since doing anything else could hurt their job search and future opportunities. Proceed with caution.
