Pros

Even with current political tensions, LZ is still allowing cultural programs which support diversity and inclusion throughout the organization. Working in a lab setting and having supportive management that understand work life balance is beneficial as long as the work is getting done. Supportive of using company time to volunteer in community investment. Most employees are supportive and willing to help each out.

Cons

No opportunity for advancement. Low yearly pay increases, with too much focus on pushing individuals to do more as “personal development”. Health benefit package is limited and costly, vacation promised isn’t always given, too many middle and upper management, with continued turnover before you even know who they are and what they do. Most scientist and engineers have no other working experience besides education and lack experience, which prevents opportunities for innovation. Co-ops have better opportunities than long term full time employees.

Pros

If you like: 1% merit increases Shrinking annual bonuses Reduced healthcare benefits Mandatory four days onsite Getting booted out of your office into a cube Drab, old office space and beaten down furniture Hunger Games approach towards resources Man-child managers promoted on ability to say yes and wear a suit Cold, heartless and visionless CEO “Strategy” centered around cost reduction and optimization Arbitrary RIF actions in response to strategy shortcomings Hefty investment to renovate constrained Wickliffe site with limited parking in an undesirable area Constantly changing management with no consistency or ability to form customer relationships If the above sounds like you, come join Lubrizol. Plenty of openings with more to come!

Pros

Company is evolving, which always comes with struggles. But there are great people here, who genuinely care about you. It sucks that Brecksville is closing, but I do appreciate the 2 year notice. We get bonus payouts every year, some years are better than others but that's also business.

Cons

Frustrating to have benefits go up in out of pocket and down in LZ contribution, essentially pay cuts for all employees. Company is showcasing all the wins we have as a company, the business we are winning, the brand new locations we're building, while simultaneously saying we have to change benefits because we're self-insured and it's too expensive. Changed in-office policy to 4 days in office, and remote employees have to come in 2 days a week. Workloads continue to rise while we make up another senior director role who will just tell middle management and their teams to do more with less.
