Centurylink as a whole, including IT will be seeing layoffs by the end of September and throughout 2015. Between layoffs, attrition, and outsourcing to IBM, there is constant cost cutting and increased responsibilities felt by everyone. Most new hires in IT are in Monroe. Most people are stuck with no opportunities for advancement. There is no investment in the employees and morale is low. I don't even work with anyone directly in my state - as existing team members are in other states. We have been told what the direction of the company is, but for those working on legacy products (land lines), it's basically a high paid babysitting job as there are generally no changes going on. Most people who knew something about the old applications have retired and that leaves a lot of stress on the people who remain to keep it up and running if something goes wrong. There is very little support or interaction from management in day to day activities.

JEALOUS PEOPLE, MANAGEMENT, DIRECTORS, EXECUTIVES MOST DON'T WANT TO BE ACCOUNTABLE! They will lie, conjure, manipulate, and act like they are in elementary and junior high. It is amazing how smart people can be so stupid. If you need a psychological study on toxic, unhealthy, unproductive environments that keep their head above water with "creative" numbers reporting....this is the place for you. Why reimburse for gym memberships, mobile phone monthly bills so everyone can be on call, or any other "perk" if you are going to TAX IT AS INCOME!!! You have to enter the gym membership every month. Whatever you do, don't work at this place. Go somewhere else.
