Appalling management, bullying from overbearing project managers, cronyism to such an extent that leadership roles were doled out based on how much one sociopathic senior manager liked you. A friend of mine went out to lunch with this sociopath. Every Thursday. They were buds. One Thursday afternoon we noticed my friend was gone from the company. It turns out my friend said something that the sociopath did not like so he fired him at lunch. The sociopath is still making all hiring and promotion decisions. Every experienced engineer has left. The result was that products were being made that would be an embarrassment to an elementary school shop class.

The company does well against its competitors such as Finisar. RSU stocks are great. We get twice a year bonus. The key is you have to negotiate your compensation package. Never settle for less. Aim high. What do you have to loose? If you already have a job, you would be in good shape to negotiate your salary. If you are laid off and looking, they will use that against you. But that is true with all companies.

Cons

The so-called DTO, discretionary time off. I hate it. It should be outlawed. Nothing beats standard vacation. I hate all the outdated legacy software written in VB6 and I despise traditional NI DAQ and old Labview codes.

One of the benefit that we see more and more companies are implementing which decades ago was unthinkable is a Discretionary Time Off (DTO) program which we believe gives employees more flexibility to manage their time off. It is a prime example of a program that enables empowerment where employees and managers are working together to foster work-life balance. Of course, like all other time off programs, the employee and their manager need to work together to ensure that both business needs and personal needs are met.

No plan and no direction. Huge amounts of hiring and then large scale annual layoffs, no chance of promotion once you have joined. All hands meetings are high fives and congratulations whilst people are being walked out of the door, share price is half of what is was in 2022 as the entire managment team relied and then seems surprised that 1 customer who stopped ordering, management completely unaware of the day to day reality of the employees, product, tools for the job or strategy
