      Horrible Culture

      Pros

      Large company, financially diversified and stable. Interesting technology. Seems to be a good place for interns.

      Cons

      Frequent and seemingly arbitrary layoffs. Lack of transparency from upper management. Power struggle at upper levels is clear as leaders get pushed around to different roles, often out of their area of expertise, fueling the arbitrary layoffs due to lack of understanding about the business they manage. Inability to commit resources and funds to complete new projects. Instead, they rely on acquisition to create new products.

      Pros

      The colleagues and coworkers are all very nice. Many year money burning and technology accumulations are very good for employee knowledge and experience improvement.

      Cons

      The company, especially management , doesn't appreciate employee hard working. If the projects or products are not going well, they just found the scapegoat to blame and layoff them, doesn't care the detail reasons behind.

To get a glimpse into our CEO, Alan Lowe, we would like to share an excerpt from a recent communication to employees (4/25/18) that he titled “Making Lumentum a Great Place to Work” and concluded his message with, “I want to thank all of you who strive to make Lumentum a great place to work by your individual efforts to treat others respectfully and allow them to feel welcome to do their very best each and every day. I see and hear about these seemingly simple, but important, acts of good will and professionalism throughout this company and it makes me proud to be member of this team.”

      Lots of variety in your work

      Cons

      Benefits have been taken away, the company lies to you, they don't give you the complete picture, they tie your hands behind your back and strip you of all your resources and tools so that it's impossible to do your job
