      Love my job, but looking elsewhere.

      Pros

      Located in Annapolis MD, it's a large, comprehensive hospital without having to drive into Baltimore or DC. Free onsite parking. Consistently receives high patient satisfaction scores. I have worked here many years and many of my good friends are coworkers.

      Cons

      Have had problems with inappropriate behavior / sexual harassment towards myself and witnessed by others, which was not taken seriously by management. Rather than take legal action, and be associated with a scandal that could negatively impact my career, I am looking for work elsewhere. Also be aware that there is such a strong push to cut costs that staff is expected to work short staffed rather than allow overtime to cover vacations or sick days.

      A good, consistent place to work.

      Pros

      Safe working conditions. Listens to the voice of the patient. Comparable salary. On site parking. Large campus but a community hospital feel.

      Cons

      Could use more room to advance/grow. Mid level management turn over rate high. Should reconsider employee discount for on campus meals/purchases.

      Thank you for the response. We are glad to hear about your positive experience working for AAMC. Our employees’ growth and education is important to us, which is why we offer many events and resources for employees to advance their career. Some of the great opportunities employees can take advantage of are LEAD Academy, the annual internal career fair, and a variety of organizational development classes. We also encourage you to work with your supervisor to help you create and reach your career goals. AAMC does still offer an employee discount for all the gift shops. But we decided to remove the employee discount for the cafeteria in order to allow us to invest more in the future of the health system.

      Very competitive pay and benefits. A genuine desire at the corporate level to have well satisfied and educated staff.
