Pros

Some nice and caring colleagues.

Cons

If you are a true art director/designer, please avoid this company of all cost! Because you'll be facing with incapability self-claimed creative director who don't know about a basic design principles and will ask you to copy other's people design and it's a right thing to do, plus out of the border's bad attitudes who are going to treat you more like a student and even worst than a lecture who going to ask you every single questions into you every single details of the design you created. Just make a guess what kind of stupid question, and yes, that it is! It's rather that that person didn't understand at all about design in general at all or testing you. If you ask that person, the answer will be testing you, but if you are a experienced designer, you will guess that that person didn't understand about the design at all. Nevertheless, when the things went wrong, that person will push the blame to you.

Avoid MCI at all costs

Pros

Opportunities to travel to interesting locations, but you won’t get a chance to actually see them, just say you were there.

Cons

-Very poor pay -Constantly working overtime with no time off in lieu or bonus -no recognition or thanks for working hard, you are just given more work. -processes are constantly being dramatically changed: once one project is going well, the management decide to cancel it or change it completely. There is no stability. -management and HR are liars, they are not interested in actually giving you new opportunities, it’s just an exercise in covering their reputation. -generalised, accepted and promoted chaos.

Workplace for those who want to be exploited

Pros

It is very fast-paced and international. You get to work with different clients and travel. If you like to travel, then you might like it for few months or years (Please bear in mind, only if you work for PCO, Ovation or Association Management in event production role). The average working age is around 24, with only senior management being over 40. This mean that is rather fresh and innovative place to work. Many people are genuinely interested and care about their clients. The management does not give too much opportunities for training, but there are some group initiatives, such as Dream Day (admittedly, not too impressive initiative). Also, very open and tolerant: lots of women in high level positions (minus the CEO) and openly supporting minorities and different cultures.

Cons

Expect to work for more than 3 client. Expect that you will not have regular 9 to 5 working hours. Instead, you will be expected to work minimum 10 hours a day, sometimes 7 days a week. The overtime will not be compensated in monetary form. If you are lucky, you might get one free compensation day. The managers are too busy to provide supervision and direction to their team members. The directors are too busy getting more projects to fund the company and its board than providing support for the managers and their teams. A lot of gossiping and bad mouthing because of bad atmosphere (that is caused by anxiety, stress and overtime). In addition, the company is going through restructuring, and there is a lot of uncertainty in the air. Be prepared, if you do not deliver and a client complains, you are out. There really is not a lot of security. In addition, the business development team sells the people and their talent with a lower price than the projects require. Thus, the employees have to bear the responsibility of bad management and business development decisions.
