Pros

Smart and fun people to work with. New technology is always considered and welcome... as long as its free. The teams all generally work well together and the company is very stable. Compensation is average and benefits are a little below average.

Cons

I will start by saying I left MMGY voluntarily... wishing I could convince myself the changes being made at MMGY were for the best so I could stay. The workload far exceeds resources available creating long hours on a consistent basis. Developers are treated as largely expendable causing high turnover which creates poor or non-existent training for new employees. Be forewarned, if you come in referred by a staffing agency, MMGY will ask you to sign an agreement to pay back a pro-rated fee that can equate to thousands of dollars if you don't stay for a full year. Be very careful of this. You must stay for one year or pay. Quite a few developers have left in the last 6 months. Six in total, almost the full team. This occurred promptly after new management came in. A clear statement that new management lost the trust and respect of its subordinates. Inexperienced project management often leads to clients receiving arbitrary and improbable deadlines. Fingers usually end up pointing at the developer for fault because he or she is last in line to receive the project. Write ups for failing to complete projects on time seems to be the new norm. Usually followed shortly after by a pink slip. So (in recap) there is little or no training and you must hit the ground running. As such, this is no place for junior level developers, even if they are limited to just maintenance tasks.
