Pros

You find an occasional person who is competent, ethical and an overall good person.

Cons

Very low pay, no growth opportunities unless you know someone, lots of lies from management, no job security or company loyalty. I've seen employees who are great at what they do and worked for the company for over 40 years be kicked out the door cause their position is "being eliminated."

Pros

Young professionals can get a great introduction to the distribution sector of the Oil & Gas Industry via MRC Global. Right in the heart of the Energy capitol, MRC gives employees good exposure to products and the selling thereof. Good entry-level networking, both with vendors/suppliers and clients.

Cons

Pay-scale is not as competitive as per industry standards. Level or responsibility is sometimes not in line with level of pay, the former usualy outweighing the latter. MRC is riddled with instances of nepotism or cronyism, and are usually the first to receive promotion. Merit is not always the prime factor in career progression.

The middle managers and ops employees - the people who actually make the company successful despite the CEO & EVP's

Cons

There's no vision beyond the end of the CEO's nose, horrid communication. ZERO communication to the masses, and total joke of a CFO & especially the CAO.
