Pros

- PTO: you get 25 days (5 weeks) of PTO - Nice office: the NYC office is beautiful and located in a great part of Manhattan - Opportunities: there are some fun opportunities for travel and to meet various influencers and celebrities

Cons

- Gaslighted: No one reads their email and then when you ask them about things you already sent or things you have verbalized, they say that those things never happened or ridicule you. - Thrown under the bus: It's very common for people to distance themselves from things they've done wrong and blame their subordinates. - Working during time off: Leadership works on PTO and will message you while you're on PTO so you feel an immense pressure to answer. - Expected to work weekend and very late hours: Because of open seats and mismatch in roles and responsibility amongst different brands/verticals, some people do the jobs of 2 or even 3 people and work late hours for the same pay as those who have more help. - No support or training: HR doesn't have ANY training in place so be prepared to fend for yourself - Politics: The work politics suck! It's about who you like versus who is good at what you do.

Pros

Hybrid schedule. Nice office. Summer Fridays.

Cons

Zero infrastructure. Unrealistic goals. Turnover unmatched. Incompetent dinosaur talking heads posing as leaders. Insane workloads. Not setup for success- lack of leadership alignment pits departments against one another. Operations & Project management is a joke. Every deadline missed. No onboarding, no clear roles and responsibilities. Appalling lack of diversity. roles & realities misrepresented. Utter Chaos with a high school level of emotional maturity. Old boys club will openly talk about employees looks valued over job performance. mentally taxing environment for anyone who’s not thin, white and straight. “successful” employees are miserable workaholics with no lives outside of work.

Tough place to work

Pros

Fun to work in beauty, very fast paced environment -no day is the same. There is a certain camaraderie amongst employees - departments are understaffed and work loads are often quite heavy. You can commiserate with your colleagues and make some friends. With the turnover as high as it is, you will often absorb the role of someone who left without any compensation and it can take months to fill the position, if they fill it at all. As stated in some other reviews, the vacation/PTO policy is great - however, most managers will not give you the actual time off to use your days. The vacation policy was improved last year in an attempt to retain employees.

Cons

Unprofessional and extremely abusive behavior from upper management, specifically the CEO. No person should have to experience the behavior I witnessed in my time at Maesa. The verbal abuse from upper management is unacceptable and should not be tolerated, regardless of your title. The turnover speaks for itself. Be wary of the reviews on this site - MANY are fake.
