A culture of genuinely great people that truly define professionalism, empathy and ownership.
Pros
The best people - In fact, the best people I have ever had the pleasure of working with in my career. Keep in mind... I am old, so that is even more impressive. I have been doing this a long time and never been among a more talented and hard-working group of people. A true meritocracy - Been a part of many organizations that preach this, but finally a part of a company where this is true and demonstrated every day. Most positions are filled from within, as managers, we are trained to identify great future leaders or facilitators and give them the tools needed to make the next step. Every cycle, I see a group of deserving people getting a new challenge as they see the rewards of all their hard work. Leadership that cares - Our CEO has regular meetings with all of us, town hall type meetings where he discusses everything. Not just the company, the bottom-line, sales figures, etc. but life and the world and more. The CEO is very genuine about making the time to talk to anyone about anything, either in that public forum or in private. He is also hilarious, and the meetings seem incredibly short due to his great presentation and levity, but most importantly, he always demonstrates we are always a person to him, never a number, which is a refreshing change. This type of management style isn’t just at the very top; my manager has been fantastic and supportive. Always ensuring that I know the direction I need to head in but leaving how quickly I move in that direction up to me, letting me learn and refine my own managing style. My manager has already taught me more than my last three combined, and I never felt anything but support and a desire to help me grow. Great benefits – Regular raise reviews, bonuses, decent insurance, great 401K, very generous vacation policies right from the start, a fantastic People Team that is always ready to help, numerous other resources for mental health, volunteering, family assistance, etc. all really round out the experience here.
Cons
Other than maybe having to work under me... there aren't many! As long as you're willing to work hard, demonstrate ownership in what you do, and respect all that work here with you, you will go far! Though it's a remote company, I feel closer to the people I work with here than at any of my on-site roles. It really is a great community here for those that are up to the challenge!
