Pros

- Recent graduate (less than 1 year of experience at the time of my application) that got offered an opportunity to work at MaintainX. While job hunting, other employers would usually test my knowledge in-person (which, as you can imagine, is stressful as I am not knowledgeable in all techs and can only learn so much for an interview that may or may not work). MaintainX, on the other hand, gives its candidates an 'unlimited' amount of time to do the take-home. - My colleagues helped me grow as a software developer. Everyone has been helpful as I was learning a completely new stack (my previous employer was using PHP, MaintainX is using TS/React - Company is growing and it's possible to work on many things! - People I've met at the office are happy and motivated, which is great! (A positive atmosphere is something important for me)

Cons

- None so far. I'm very happy. Obviously, things are moving really fast and I'm having trouble remembering the name of all my new colleagues from other departments. It can be scary to look at how things changed since I joined last year. - Each developer is supplied with a work laptop which does the job, but a Desktop would do the job better :D

Pros

When I was looking for a job a few years ago I had a few options to choose from, but I'm so happy I chose to join MaintainX. The company as it stands right now is at a pivotal moment in its history. It is in a solid financial position, having raised capital from some of the most prestigious VC firms around, has demonstrated incredible month on month growth and it feels like we are still just scratching the surface of the company's potential customers. I believe if the company was serving consumers rather than businesses it would be much more widely known. The management team is young but highly competent and very approachable, with no large egos to contend with. In fact I would say one of the most striking aspects of the company culture is to treat everyone, from colleagues and customers alike with kindness. There is also a real spirit of openness and transparency. Every quarter we have the opportunity to pose questions directly to the CEO and management team, and they do not shirk from receiving feedback and responding. In the engineering team, we are using a really modern tech stack, and so all the skills we are developing will be very useful for our careers going forward. We are building new features at a high pace, but nothing feels rushed, nor are we under unreasonable pressure to deliver. The senior engineers clearly know their subject areas and yet they are not arrogant, they are eager to share their knowledge with others. I am given a large amount of autonomy and trust to perform my work without any micro-management from above. I have weekly check-ins with my line manager and a performance review every 6 months, when I have often been given the opportunity to take on more responsibilities as long as I am comfortable with it. Some of the small touches the company performs often brings a smile to my face. From sending a basket of useful baby items whenever one of us becomes a parent, to a Christmas hamper of Montreal food stuffs, to high quality and thoughtful MaintainX branded gear, to the social evenings to celebrate certain company milestones. It really is a really great company to work for, and I feel like I've landed on my feet here.

Cons

The engineering team could be a bit more diverse, but I don't think it's through lack of effort from the management team, more of a challenge of attracting the right talent. We are also struggling to hire the quantity of engineers we need, possibly due to lack of brand awareness among candidates.

Pros

Very positive sales culture. Not like other tech companies where quotas are completely unattainable and promised results to investors are exaggerated, which makes the environment very stressful. Here the objectives at MaintainX are ambitious, but fair. They also have a very tight interview process, which ensures everyone who is hired is well chosen. You get to work alongside very smart, but humble people. Everyone is always available to help and work collaboratively.

Cons

None yet - everything has been great so far.
