Pros

great guests and co workers. free cofee. good music. easy enough job for a decent pay.

Cons

if you are disabled, this won't be the company for you. unless you like being put down for asking for basic accommodations, being bullied openly by the female upper management if you're a young female, because they hate themselves, and consistently forcing you into training people who were hired to replace you in hopes you will quit. never getting paid extra and begging for training meals to be met with a no. i was hired full time and only got 30 hours on a good week. food workers treated as second class compared to the actual hotel staff and sales team. no free food but management and sales can drink and eat all they wanted on the clock. job requirements shifted without warning, and suddenly you're getting in trouble for doing what they got you in trouble for NOT doing the week prior. management failed consistently to communicate changes to staff and among themselves. my suggestions to improve things were met with annoyance or reframed as someone else's idea. management picked favorites and canceled an important dinner for me days before the event, despite my talking to them about it, no one showed up to my birthday as a result of the confusion. then months later, they gave a private event space for free to another employee's event. at every turn i asked for respect and basic human rights, and i was utterly shat on for doing so, despite being one of the few who genuinely loved my job, my regulars, and the restaurant. then when i stood up for myself at my breaking point, id get written up. its not hard to write down verbal instructions and provide notice before major disruptions to my routine so I can work with my therapist to create a plan. I genuinely think they never believed me when I said I was mentally disabled because they only really talked to me about my difficulties like it was news to me that i wasn't doing well without the necessary accommodations. like, me too bud, I wish i could be normal and not need the extra help! it also took 6 months to receive an anti-pressure mat that every other station in the hotel had but mine. SIX MONTHS. the best way to explain my experience was like when you talk to a manager about how you need a banana-free workplace because you'll die if you are exposed to one, and he immediately puts a banana peel on the floor, you slip on it, and then you yell "WHY the f86k IS THIS HERE?" and your manager says, well we don't tolerate yelling in this office, so we're gonna have to write you up twice because you yelled, and the second one is for the cussing. that means you'll be fired if you do anything else we don't like, and by the way, we need you to go process the bananas in the back.
