I have been an employee for 6 years at Maplewood Newtown. I have seen many changes over the years but the last year it has been the best job I have ever had! A new Executive Director started a year ago and a huge change occurred. It has finally felt like it is a family. I enjoy coming to work and taking care of the residents and the nursing staff couldn't be better!

Wish my uniform made me look a little cuter!

Terrible pay, promised a pay rate which I was not given. Very poor management, clearly the management needs to be let go and have restaff. Unable to voice your concerns for management confronts the issue and gives your name to the employee that is of concern making for a hostile work environment. Managent takes too much time off and when around they are all together discussing things of their personal interest and not the company. Residents do not receive the care or activities that they deserve. Rules change on a daily basis. Very unorganized. Never have I worked for such a terrible place in my life. This place hires anyone just to have a body there.

I have worked with Maplewood for almost 3 years now. Not only do I love my job I truly love the residents and the family members. It is hard work but I am making a difference in the lives of seniors. I also take care of my grandmother so I treat each resident the same. Maplewood is nice. We have fun at work and they care about me.

Cons

At times it can be hard work but that if you have good work ethic any job can be hard.
