Pros
The pay is decent once you get experience, or shall I say "signed off". You dont actually have to know anything. Decent benefits and a safety rewards program.
Cons
They say they only hire experienced people but every person they send to the boat is "green". The port captains lie to you about promotions and when you turn your back they laugh at you. Seen it and have had it done to me. Work hard and they use you to cover the guys who will not do anything but seem to never get reprimanded. The company is going down hill fast. They hire friends and family members of others and no matter what they do or don't do for that matter is a mute point. The boats are contracted to other, larger companies so marquette makes their money off how many people are on the boat, not performance. They don't care if you do it all and the other guys watch tv, nobody gets fired!
