Pros

There really aren’t any pros working for mavis. It’s a terrible company, filled with terrible people running it. They put you down, micromanage you and basically make you feel horrible about the job you’re doing for them no matter how hard you try to please. I don’t suggest anyone who has feelings or a heart to work for these people, they get enjoyment out of knocking people down.

Cons

Your micromanaged in an unbelievable way, you have cameras on you at all times. Upper management really doesn’t care one iota about their employees, even if your doing good and hitting your numbers, the words “good job” will never come out of your regionals mouth nor anyone else for that matter. They make you sell things the customer doesn’t need and no matter how hard you express your disdain for that, it’s either you do it or they find a way to fire you, or make your life miserable until you quit. They hound the managers all day long with constant phone calls checking on numbers and what’s been sold. In order to get a job at mavis, all you need is a pulse. They will allow someone with little or no training at all to work on someone’s car, they will allow someone who knows nothing about brakes to do a brake job on someone’s car. Obviously a customers safety means nothing to mavis as long as that brake flush is being sold or the bogus power steering flush is being sold. I don’t understand why I mean considering mavis is such a large company they would rather just pay someone $10 an hour for the job to either end up a disaster, come back because it was done wrong or something ends up happening like a wheel falls off or someone gets hurt. You are under the constant threat of losing your job for whatever reason they choose to pull out of a hat that day. I think the owners need to revaluate how these regionals are running things, I’m wondering if they would care (prob not) or if they would be shocked too.

Pros

Company promoted from within Great people /co-workers

Cons

Since they took on investors they have lost the human touch. You are expected to be actively working with the stores 7 days a week. There is NO time off. You do not have to show up to work on Saturday/Sunday, but you are expected to be on the phone driving sales 7 days a week. The motto is we don’t Lie, cheat or steal. The message is you need to Lie, Cheat and steal if you expect to hit the crazy expectations they demand on a daily basis.
