Pros
Healthcare-fairly stable industry, right out of college good place to start, multi-tasking skills are aquired, promotion is obtainable with relocation, once promoted compensation can be very high
Cons
long hours, unrealistic expecations, on-call nights/weekends, promotions based on Regional Manager opinion only, no raises until promotion, not supposed to take vacation days. No lunches or breaks. Recruiters make .75-1% of gross income per week for bonus, manager makes 10% of net income. Corporate office takes huge portion of revenue. Abusive employees and clients at all offices. Medicaid families very unappreciative of state funded free nursing services. Waking up at 3am with a nurse calling off and then having to deal with the hostile client at 8am the next morning. Not a good place to work if you have a family. Not a good place to work if you have high blood pressure or need 8 hours of sleep to function properly.
