      Pros and Cons of Maxim

      Pros

      Maxim has an energy that is uncommon in most office jobs. When your working you are hyped and ready to work. Its a great place for a GUY to work, sports, women, movies and bars are a main topic of non work related conversation. The pay is not stellar, but nor is it the worst out there. The size of the company is a big help in many cases.

      Cons

      The office hours 10.5 hr days + on call, 3am is not a fun time to deal with an upset client. Lack of communication, but that is a normal con for working for a very large and nationwide company. Lack of promotion opportunities, Maxim is very specialized in one area, so moving from a recruiter to another department (other than account manager) is very hard. Most non-recruiters are hired from outside the company. Regional management and up are not very honest or truthful with the local managers and recruiters, which leads to a lot of second guessing on everyone's part.

      Pros

      They are hiring. The pay for entry-level positions is relatively high. The management is very good about giving requested days off.

      Cons

      Very low pay for more advanced support positions. Incompetent management who will say one thing to you, then completely disregard it behind closed doors.
