I would not recommend working for Maxim due to their consistently toxic work environment and terrible business practices. During my time there, I found that the company's management showed a complete lack of employee acknowledgement, which led to low morale and a general sense of dissatisfaction among the team. Furthermore, the environment was incredibly toxic, with constant gossip and backstabbing that made it difficult to trust anyone in the workplace. In addition to this, there was a significant amount of gaslighting that occurred, with management frequently denying the validity of employee concerns and making it clear that their opinions were not valued. The business practices were also incredibly problematic. There was a clear lack of transparency in decision-making, with management often making arbitrary changes without informing employees or soliciting feedback. Additionally, the company's treatment of clients was often exploitative, with a focus on maximizing profits at the expense of ethical practices. Overall, I would not recommend working for Maxim due to their consistently toxic environment, lack of employee acknowledgement, and terrible business practices. If you are looking for a supportive workplace that values its employees and operates ethically, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Management is a joke. This place is SEVERELY MICRO MANAGED. Internal team members aren’t promoted based on talent or ability so being a top performer means absolutely nothing. No bonuses, no new opportunities. There is no growth opportunity here for hardworking employees. Managment showed no support or leadership for recruiters. They basically lie and sell you dream in the interview so you’ll take the job. (They need people, someone quits or disappears every week here) The company was in the midst of being sold to Aveanna, but the deal didn’t even go through because even Aveanna sees how much of a circus this place is. They told everyone we would be getting a “stay bonus” if we don’t quit since September of 2019... just to tell us in December 2019 that we are no longer receiving this “fake bonus”. The Gardena office is infested with roaches. I picked up the phone to find a roach crawling on the receiver, coworkers have found roaches inside desk draws and I even seen one crawling on the wall while I was interviewing a potential LVN nurses. We complained to management and all they did was have an exterminator come out and put a couple of “roach traps” in the office. Disgusting. I went to one of the managers to speak with him about future opportunities at this company but he was so emotional and defensive about me showing a desire to move into his position. Maxim hires and promotes toxic and unqualified “leaders”. Anyway to save money. Theres so much drama, and people quitting everyday! Even managment gossips and talks about people in the office all day long. BEWARE! MAXIM HAS A HIGH TURNOVER FOR A REASON. There were at least 2 employees that just never showed back up because of the terrible work environment. I was hired last year but little did I know I was replacing the last 3 recruiters who quit within an 8 month time frame. I noticed a cycle here. They hire recruiters then they quit one year later it’s just a revolving door. Maybe this would be Maxims wake up call to create better working environments and show appreciation for your employees so people stop quitting. When interviewing for new employees they are required to have a”pit sit” with the team. This Is basically for everyone to make a determination if they seem like ‘bro’ material. They don’t actually access your professional ability. It’s an entry level job and they’re just looking for anyone who will accept the low pay and start the soonest... literally. Maxim has been sued hundreds of times for numerous reasons (public record, check it out) Every Friday the checks are NEVER right. Clueless payroll girl takes off every Friday because she dosnt want to deal with angry employees who didn’t get paid... AGAIN. On call is on rotation based on the size of your team usually 1-3 people. Yes, you will have to deal with calls at 4am, nurses calling off at the last minute, just not showing up at all or quitting. Maxim will hire ANYONE with an active LVN license. No one gets fired and no one is reprimanded for some of the outrages things that happen in patients homes. They don’t care about quality or the needs of the patients. It’s all about money. I would NEVER hire maxim to provide me with nursing for someone I loved or cared about since I see what goes on behind the scenes. Half of these nurse aren’t even qualified and some have even disclosed that in the interview process, but maxim will throw them on any case regardless. They just need a body there so they can bill for it. The pay is terrible and you make $16 for the first 6 month training period. (You’re not actually getting trained, you’re doing the same work everyone else is doing. This is just another way for maxim to “save money” at the employees expense) Only thing talked about all day is meal prep and fantasy football. Do not waste any of your time working for this company unless you are completely desperate. Maxim is largely known and not for anything positive. This place is bottom of the barrel and the reviews show.

Pros

Very few quality people to trust.

Cons

No benefits, only work part time, and pay is absolute garbage. Mileage was taken from me. Would not consider me for in house position even though I was more than qualified. Did not even interview me because I was "just too valuable in the field."
