      You will receive your paycheck. Maximus offers 401K match and benefits.

      Cons

      Maximus does not pay enough for the amount of work they want their employees to produce. Management does not seem to care about work/life balance. (One can start work at 8 AM and not finish until 6 PM due to meetings and such, as well as be expected to work weekends when that was not discussed during the hiring process.) The environment at Maximus is very high pressure and unrealistic deadlines are placed on all tasks. Management constantly hounds for completion of work instead of acknowledging blockers that were expressed. Employees are treated like machines/robots instead of human beings. The details of the project are not thorough, and you are left to scramble. You will be trained and expected to be an expert in record time. (This is across multiple departments.) Example: Employee is placed in "required" training that last 3 weeks, from 9 AM to 6 PM. Employee is expected to joined meetings during that time frame, as well as have updates on a project that the employee has not been present for due to "required" training. It is giving circus because it is a circus! Employment with Maximus lasted less than 3 months.

      TERRIBLE PAY, DISHONEST MANAGEMENT

      Maximus ignores all negative reviews on here and responds back to complaints with soulless canned statements about how much they value our feedback and how they’d love to hear more. Total BS. This is corporate gaslighting at its finest.

      Cons

      Maximus got rid of all bonus pay the second they bought out VES. This is a complex and high stress job. And now - THE BASE PAY ISN’T WORTH IT. I’ve got two kids at home. There was no warning about this huge pay cut. Some QAs made more in bonuses than our base pay of $44k and poof that’s gone with no heads up or apology. Management is silent about these huge changes and the direction of the company. It’s VES’s first year with Maximus and we didn’t even get a holiday bonus - just the sudden news that we our monthly bonuses based on our work performance are gone. There is no $ rewarded if we exceed monthly quota now and Maximus keeps hiring new employees at much lower pay to replace us. DISGRACEFUL. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. As a parent, it’s too risky continuing to work for such a financially unpredictable company. First chance I get I’ll be taking my masters degree where it will be appreciated so I can make a real paycheck again.

      Too early to tell if it's good or bad

      Pros

      I was part of the company that was recently acquired and the review focuses on part of that company and part of Maximus. I hope top management will read this and see what changes are necessary. 1. Employees seem nice so far after a year with the company that acquired us. 2. Can work from home if your manager CHOOSES to let you. 3. The benefits seem good, but the compensation package needs to be more competitive. 4. Work/life balance is good but could be better. 5. Flexible hours.

      Cons

      1. Some department managers insist employees work in the office so that they can watch over their shoulder every minute of every day. Don’t they have anything better to do? This does not help with productivity in any way. 2. Clear communication to all employees within the department is lacking. It’s always a guessing game. 3. Year-end bonuses and yearly performance reviews and raises were stripped away. How does this keep us motivated to do our job? 4. Quirky system. 5. Friends and favorites are given promotions before ones who are qualified and deserve it more. 6. Some positions in certain departments are not posted internally for employees to apply. 7. There is discrimination. 8. Constructive feedback is discouraged by managers. 9. The turnover rate is high.
