Pros

one of the best things about Mayo is the atmosphere. Mayo has very strong focus on teamwork and makes physicians accountable for including all in this. Mayo is very focused on good relationships between physicians and other employees. Mayo has good opportunity for advancement for those that work hard and are commited to the organization.

Cons

Mayo often takes a long time to make decisions. There are often many meeetings before any decision is made. This often feels cumbersome for those that are waiting for the decision. Mayo also provides little feedback if you are doing your job well. For someone who wanted to grow and improve, more feedbaack would have been helpful.

Pros

Wonderful work environment, Patient rooms are outstanding, the Care is unmatched!! The use of the computers at the patient's bedside have really upgraded the information that we can give to patients and families. Having everything at one campus provides such an advantage verus other hospitals and organizations. I am very proud to be apart of something very special. We use the most up to date equipment and the technology is superior. The nurse to patient ratio is acceptable to provide good quality care. The mutual repect between doctors and nurses is very good. Best place to work is Mayo Clinic Hospital!!!

Cons

Lack of ladder movement in the company. The senior employees are not being paid for their loyality to the company.

Pros

I am proud to be a part of an organization that is committed to the highest quality healthcare for Arizonans. The organization is really about excellence. Additionally, I have found the pay scale to be very competitive in our regional marketplace. Tha facilities and campuses are beautiful and the medical equipment is considered state-of-the-art in many areas.

Cons

The culture here is slow to adapt to changes in the marketplace. The company is managed by committees which make it almost impossible to get anything done. If you are looking for a fast-paced, performance-driven environment, keep looking. The company approach to employees is patriarchal and out-dated. Average employees and even below-average employees are rewarded the same as the high performers.
