Pros

Great culture, people who care about what they are doing. I feel like I am working with some of the most talented people in the industry. McKinstry is growing and I am excited to see what's next!

Cons

I would appreciate a bigger focus on professional development. I think I have more to offer than what is being utilized in my current role. Managers tend to be "coach players" which makes them good technical managers but not great people managers.

Pros

Great salary. You are leading the industry with the quality you produce. It feels good to know that when you do something, you are setting the standard for other companies.

Cons

Not a whole lot. The downsides come from the restrictions that the unions put on the employees. No paid time off, no bonuses. But you can take as much time off as you like. Not limited to vacation days.

Pros

Good culture and company values. There are some nice perks (e.g. they have cars you can borrow to drive to meetings, free bus pass and free parking, deli on site). It's in an exciting industry and growing. Some of the people are really smart and dedicated. You can maintain a work / life balance if you try.

Cons

The culture isn't what it used to be and morale suffers in some areas. They don't often put their people first, like they say they do. Benefits are pretty good but salaries aren't competitive. Middle management is mediocre. There aren't great growth opportunities for young employees. The company tries to do too many things - deep down they're still a construction company. They have a lot of good people and service offerings, but haven't really figured out how to bring it all together and break down the silos.
