Pros
There is a lot of power given to the individual at McKinstry, if the individual shows initiative and competence. A lot of the people leading the various departments started out as workers and engineers, so you don't get the bureaucracy that is formed by disconnecting those who plan the direction of a company from the actual work that a company does. This is a very good thing.
McKinstry is very employee-centric. The events hosted for employees, the benefits given to employees, and the general assortment of perks is outstanding! Just to name one, the commuter arrangements are phenomenal.
The work I have seen put in to projects has been second to none - this company truly performs outstanding work, and excels through lasting customer relationships.
Furthermore, the McKinstry office facilities are very good. This is something that makes working there significantly more pleasant than some other offices I have experienced. Everywhere there are large windows with natural lighting, beautifully chosen paint, and cleverly decorated spaces that are a pleasure to occupy.
Overall, if the work fits your interests, I would recommend this company.
Cons
There is some variety between different groups, and some groups are definitely stronger than others. The smaller groups can have organizational problems, particularly when trying to get established. The overall organization of the company is very satisfactory as a whole.
