Pros

Nice office, friendly office managers, neat perks (massages, stocked kitchens, company lunches, etc.) They do a good job of onboarding new hires into training them about the ad tech industry (...maybe too good. It made me realize that it's not an industry I want to work in.)

Cons

People are rude and treat you like you're disposable. Many people on the tech side are narcissistic, immature, and act like petulant 3rd grade bullies. They'll trash talk each other in "private" chatrooms and then pretend to be all smiles when dealing with you directly. You'll get put on and pulled from projects faster than you can imagine, leading to you completing nothing in the end. No direction, no clarity, no structure.

MediaMath Response

We try hard to foster an environment on our tech teams and across MediaMath that promotes respect, trust and professional maturity. What you describe here is not common or acceptable from members of our team, and I would appreciate if you reached out to me directly so that I can address the problems you brought up. Our tech team is passionate about changing the industry that we work in, and we can do it only by giving our employees a strong environment with the right culture, shared vision, and tools to thrive. There are many reviews on these pages that reference our recent restructure. It was a difficult but necessary action for the health of the overall company. The company has emerged stronger and more focused as a result and the employees that were impacted by the event were treated fairly and respectfully with severance packages and active job placement services. It is never easy seeing your friends and coworkers displaced and there will always be anger and frustration from all sides prosecuting how the process occurred. Where we stand as a company now, with that in our rear view, we find the culture, spirit and pride inside the company remains very strong and we continue to our mission to transform media. –Tom

Pros

1. Work life balance is great 2. Lot of interesting problems to solve 3. Co-workers are great

Cons

Mediamath has gone from a democracy and meritocracy to one man shouting orders from the ivory tower. Product leadership, while open to suggestions, has not laid out a clear vision for what is it that Mediamath is vying to do in the next 2-5 years. While I understand revenue is king, queen and the kingdom, the lack of product vision is seriously concerning. If we decided to prioritize our clients' demands as opposed to having the same priority on EVERYTHING and spent some time and engineering resources on building a solid product, we could possibly cut down the amount of money we spend on schmoozing the clients with fancy lunches and dinners and actually sell them a product that serves their need, than a constant promise for a better future. it also doesn't help that it is one person running the show. The CEO isn't as engaged as he used to be. Mediamath is surviving because of the stature of the CEO as a visionary in the ad-tech space. People in product are falling like flies and the place has a feel of a sinking ship.

Pros

I'd say the people, but nobody really left…only the new hires that were conned into joining and people on work visas that are trapped there

Cons

Many engineers and product managers have left the company, resulting in critical product improvements and roadmap coming to a complete stop. As a result, everything is smoke and mirrors, in other words if you’re a sales person you’ll have to over promise and underdeliver at the expense of your relationships and reputation. Once you look under the hood you'll be attacked by a feral creature and will want to beeline to a therapist because you'll realize you made a huge mistake! Non-competes - all the other reviews are true; they will go after you if you leave MediaMath for any of the 15 perceived competitors (including all the tech giants/FAANG). People have been sued, spent $$$$ on lawyer fees and lost job offers as a result. That said if you're still seriously considering MediaMath then keep in mind that they need you more than you need them, have them remove the NCA clause from your offer letter.
